As many of you have seen, we recently picked out a phenomenal Four Roses Single Barrel Barrel Strength which will be released later this year!
- Age: 10 Years 2 Months (likely to be 10 Years 5 Months once dumped)
- Recipe: OBSO - OBSO is made by pairing Four Roses’ high-rye “B” mashbill with their fruit-forward “O” yeast strain. This combination gives OBSO its signature deep, rich fruit notes that balance perfectly with the bright rye spice. The rye provides robust structure, but the defining character of this recipe is the fruit that the O creates.
- Tier: 6 (the highest tier which receives most heat to move bourbon in and out of wood)
But wait... _______________________________________________________________________________
We want to make this barrel even more special by creating an infinity blend of all different kinds of Four Roses SBBS recipes – think of it as Naptown Bourbon Club’s Four Roses LE experiment.
Our goal is to collect 150-200 bottles of different Four Roses SBBS from our members. We will catalog, record, and create a tracker to reflect average age, proof, and recipe. Not only will we blend them all, we will age it for up to an additional year.
If you do not have a bottle to contribute, we will try our best to help you participate – please check the Naptown Bourbon Club Slack channel for updates and assistance. If you would like to contribute multiple bottles, that should not be a problem, A 53 gallon barrel holds anywhere between 250-275 fifths (750 ml) of liquor.
At the end of the aging period, whatever is left in the barrel will be evenly distributed back to each contributor. Also, each bottle you donate will earn you 5 points.
In an effort to keep charities at our core and make sure we continue to make a positive impact on for our community, we would ask for a $20 donation per bottle. We will even have some fun competitions along the way – guessing the average entry proof and age.
As a reminder, this is experimental and there is no way (at least to our knowledge) to know how much angel share will be taken. Again, to make this as successful as possible, our target is 150-200 bottles of Four Roses SBBS.
This event registration is purely for determining interest, please respond “Yes” or “No” to this RSVP to share your intent on participating in the event by 5/18/2025. If enough interest is garnered, we will send a follow up email with directions and details for bottle collection/drop off.
